What Drives the Decisions We Make?

August 6, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm AEST

Every leader makes decisions. But what drives them?

Join us for a powerful fireside conversation that explores the unseen forces behind the choices leaders make—especially under pressure.

From snap decisions made in fast-paced boardrooms to complex dilemmas that shape organisational culture, this event dives into the heart of leadership and ethics: What helps us choose well, even when the stakes are high?

You’ll hear from two exceptional voices in leadership and ethics:

Dr. Matt Beard, moral philosopher, author, and Program Director at Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership’s Vincent Fairfax Fellowship – known for his sharp insight and ability to turn complex ethical theory into practical leadership tools.

Charity Becker, Head of Coaching and Leader Development at IECL – who brings deep experience in guiding leaders to navigate complexity, shift mindset, and lead with values-driven integrity.

In this engaging and thought-provoking session, we’ll explore:

  • Why fairness matters in decision-making – and how leaders weigh it
  • The hidden ethical dimensions of everyday choices
  • What gets in the way of making the right decision (even when we know what it is)
  • The influence of systems, culture, and unspoken expectations
  • Practical frameworks and habits that support ethical clarity under pressure
  • How coaching helps leaders pause, reflect, and lead with integrity

Whether you’re a coach, leader, or simply curious about how ethical decisions are formed, this is a rare opportunity to hear from two experts shaping the future of leadership.
